Is Your Website Critical To Your Business?

Your WordPress website is an integral part of your business. It generates leads, customers and revenue (or at least it should). It’s a channel through which customers, suppliers, potential new staff and partners will find, get to know you and engage with you.

It figures then that it is fundamental in the success of your business and you want to be sure that your audience will be able to access it 24/7 without disruption and this is what our WordPress Care and Management is all about.

All Software Is Vulnerable

Software needs updating to stay secure and get the biggest advantage of technology improvements. The unfortunate part is that all software is vulnerable, including the software that powers your website.  More websites are facing attack from hackers, including the big players like Twitter and Facebook as well as millions of small business websites every day.

Do It Yourself?

Keeping your website software up to date, backed up and secure can be time-consuming, tedious and it takes some technical know-how.

Most importantly, though, it takes you away from what you should be doing, which is building relationships with your customers, training and motivating your staff and building partnerships with suppliers.

Technology continues to evolve and it is a challenge to stay abreast of all the trends and developments and do what you should be doing in your own business as well.

Generic Help

Yes there are plenty of options for you to keep your website managed by the same company that hosts it. They do it for thousands of customers, with a variety of different types of website, every day. That means they are experienced, but not necessarily specialised in WordPress. It also means they might not be paying attention to the finer details of your website and do all the bits your business needs.

Our Help

We know the software your website is built on very well. We’ve been using it for over 8 years and all of our websites (including this one) are built on the same software. So we are in the best position to keep your website up and running and open for business and we can do that with one of our Website Care Plans.

Smaller Care Packages

We have a £29 and £49 per month plans which are mainly for clients where we have built a simple website.  Both plans include updates to the WordPress Core, plugins and themes, activity report and monthly database backups and clones.  The £49 per month plan also includes premium WordPress hosting where speed really matters and/or you have plugins (such as Learning Management Systems or Directories) where the additional load may need improved hosting.

Both plans include 15 minutes support (for instance if plugin updates cause a problem) and after that time is charged at £75 per hour, applied pro-rata by the minute and charged at the end of the month the work is carried out in.

As the client this is like having an employee without the problems of time off, sickness, on-costs (phones, computers, desk space) welfare considerations and performance issues. And you are guaranteed delivery.

No minimum term and invoices are paid a month in advance of the work being carried out.

A project management tool is provided for you to track and monitor what is being delivered.

Time is tracked by the minute and includes phone calls, emails and other conversations to gather information needed for the task.  We will set up streamlined processes to facilitate this and reduce time spent on admin to support the technical work.

How Does Set Up Work?

  1. Discovery session to establish what client wants to achieve, their existing level of resources and how we will fit in with staff and budget.
  2. We will estimate the time involved per month to achieve aims, the 'staffing' costs of that and any tools that may be needed - e.g. email marketing.
  3. The proposal will be issued based on that estimate.  The estimated cost will cover a 3 month period during which time can roll over to the next month whilst we establish a baseline.

After the 3 month period, we will reissue the details for the time involved and as the client, you continue to pay in advance.

They will get a report in the middle of the monthly billing cycle detailing how much time they have used and what is remaining.

  1. Work requests and content is submitted by email, form, ticket or phone - and this can be agreed with the client before we start.
